Very good service, they refilled your water even before it's empty. Wonderfully cooked reindeer/ lamb, seafood was tasty as well. Average price for steaks in Iceland.

Dined here after reading good reviews on trip advisor. Restaurant was busy when we arrived at 8 o'clock midweek but we were seated straight away. I ordered the horse fillet while my partner had the beef tenderloin. My steak was cooked beautifully and both came with gorgeous triple cooked chips. My partner ordered his beef well done however unfortunately it... More

Our group enjoyed the different steaks, there were locals which was encouraging. The lamb was very good.

What can I say, I was in Rey for 4 days and went there twice. The meals I had were excellent and the staff was friendly. Plus, this is my kind of place, small, cozy, and with that "at-home" feeling. I was unsure what I wanted, but the staff was great in making recommendations. I went with a rare steak... More

ABSOLUTELY love this place! The food is out of this world delicious and very reasonably priced for Reykjavik, I have no idea why this lovely little restaurant isn't higher up on the list. It wasn't made just for tourists as on our two visits it had lots of Icelandic locals too. Very friendly staff, willing to change and adapt to... More

Whale steak..or horse steak! Excellent food and prices are very reasonable for Iceland which means that every thing is expensive. Friendly staff.

Lovely restaurant, polite and attentive staff. I had ordered the surf and turf but the kitchen were out of horse unfortunately, the waitress was very helpful and assisted me in choosing a different cut of beef to go with the "turf". The cocktails were also very good. The food and drink were served promptly and cooked amazingly well. I would... More

We tried this place as we wanted to try some steak. It didn't disappoint. The menu has a good selection, as did the drinks. The premium steak was absolutely delicious. My partner had the burger which was also tasty. The service was great, but later, as the restaurant started to fill up we were forgotten about and had to go... More

A five story concrete building that once housed offices on the upper floors and a metalwork company on the ground floor, now is the home of restaurant The Steakhouse on the ground floor, the four floors above are now apartments. The old harbor area of Reykjavik has in the last couple of years, changed in to a real gem where various cuisines, museums and arts and crafts have replaced the metalworks and fisheries. The newest addition is STEIKHÚSIÐ, which simply means „The Steak House”. The name is a deliberately this simple and descriptive, the aim is to be the only steakhouse you think of after the first visit. The heart of Steikhúsið is the coal oven from Mibrasa and the soul is our own way of tendering meat for at least 28 days. Those who seek for something purely Icelandic won’t be disappointed, Steikhúsið also caters to those who want the best of Icelandic lamb and fish.
