On my last day in Reykjavik I decided I wanted to try something I had never had before. A Google search led me to this place, I showed up with 2 other people with no reservation, we got a table and I ordered the whale...More

I dined at 3 Frykkur for the opportunity to try some exotic Icelandic fare. The food was magnificent with the horse filet being a standout. Charming, intimate atmosphere and friendly staff makes this place a must visit.

Very good neighbourhood restaurant slight away from city centre. Traditional Icelandic fare including the (in)famous fermented shark which we had been warned was only for the brave. Well, we had to try it and it was "interesting" but probably an acquired taste - came with...More

Service, ambiance and food all first class. My son and I so enjoyed the whale steak and catfish. For chess fans, there is even a homage to a former regular of 3 Frakkar: Robert James Fischer. Thanks to our French waitress for a wonderful evening.

Put aside any prejudices and try the puffin, the whale (roasted and the pepper beef one) and the horse tenderloin, one can also try the harsh fish (according to my friend’s father was made into perfection) and the codfish chins. For dessert one must try...More

Hard to find, well prepared dishes make this my favorite restaraunt in the world. Prices are reasonable, as are portion sizes.

We were wanting to try some Icelandic dishes, and with looking on line found the 3 Frakker, and am so glad we did. They offered a good selection of what I would call traditional icelandic dishes using local products that we wanted to try. The...More

I went in the evening and it was great. Great service, fantastic food choice. However, best call and make an appointment though.
