Was excited to try this place out but when we arrived the door said it was closed for the winter. We ate at the attached diner instead and it wasn't bad so we got lucky.

Strondin is no exception and we were happy with their selection of goodies we could purchase to take with us for snacking on the bus and later in the day. As others have said,... More

Decent food and friendly staff, good as a stop off point to refill if you're travelling across the south coast. The staff were friendly and gave us free chips when they closed.

Very nice restaurant with windows allowing an excellent view of the ocean. The bar was a little sparse on options but once we chose from their selection, we were not disappointed. Food was a good portion and priced very well for Iceland!

Rude service and no wifi. I left. Visited in October and the bar par is closed, leaving only a cafeteria style restaurant and a surly guy taking orders. Not impressed.

We ordered the lamb goulash and the chicken and vegetables over rice. These were not on the menu, but specials for the day. We also enjoyed beer, Viking. The lamb goulash was outstanding. We sat in the Windows looking out to the ocean. There is a lovely walking path to the black sand beach. Recommend stopping here!

Very nice restaurant, good local dishes and reasonable prices. Vik is a pretty location midway between Reykjavik and southern glacier visit. This may be the only sit down full service restaurant on the highway.
