We ended up eating here for lunch twice in the 4 days we were in Valletta, the staff were great and our food was perfect. We sat at the tables in the street outside the back of the cathedral, lovely place to sit in the sunshine and watch the world go by. Over the 2 visits we ate the bruschetta,... More

We had the rabbit stew and octopus stew both were fantastic, very tasty. Quite small so you'd probably need to book at popular times if you want to sit inside. The bathroom would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. Would eat there again and probably have the same thing which is a good sign!

Great rabbit and fantastic octopus! Interesting taste of the Maltese bread and soup of the day! Cozze (mussels) was not so impressive but not bad. Recommended :)

I ate there twice. I had the rabbit pasta and the swordfish. Hearty meals, properly cooked, fresh ingredients, excellent flavour and choice of spices. I have the impression that I tasted genuine Maltese cuisine. One thing I didn't like is that there was no rabbit meat in the rabbit pasta. As the waiter (or maybe he was the owner) explained... We had an early evening meal here at after a day's sightseeing in the beautiful city of Valetta. Several local restaurants that we might have eaten at were closed until 6:30 but La Pira was a great choice. The menu wasn't extensive; just serving a good range of local dishes including some specials. I chose the rabbit pasta which was... More

Enjoyed lunch with my family there. I would definitely recommend the local Maltese rabbit as well as the octopus stew. Very attentive staff and a unique experience.
