As other reviews warned, George will come to greet you after you put one step in the restaurant, and you will be charmed by his welcoming words and familiarity. He makes sure you understand that you are getting what he wants, and its the best option you can have. Food didn't stop coming, until we had to say we couldn't... More

You can tell right away that the people at Seven St Georges love food and love Cyprus. They were very friendly and obviously proud of their country and culture. Food was delicious beyond description and keeps coming until you say stop. They were wonderful with our impatient kids and had a true understanding of what children need,

Very dissapointed. We visited this place again a year ago. The food was average, the service was so slow. Really poor!!A lot of much better Cypriot taverns are available in Paphos. Trust me,it was a disappointing experience.

Having lived here for 5 years and heard everyone talking about this amazing place we decided to give it a try. How right everyone had been, this place is just so good we wish we'd visited years ago. Yes the inside isn't to everyone's cup of tea but I feel it's what makes it. Lovely warm welcome by George and... More

I read a review where 7 St Georges was accused of not having authentic Cypriot cuisine. If by that the reviewer meant that it's not formulaic like some restaurants in the tourist areas, where the same old dishes are rolled out year after year; he's absolutely correct. I've been coming here for 13 years and last night I had 2... More

Visited for lunch today with my 3 young children in tow and this place is just amazing! Food is spectacular, full of local and seasonal ingredients, cooked beautifully. Service is steady but not rushed. Staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Highlights today were the smoky eggplant, grilled rabbit, vegetable tart and fresh chutney. Worth making a sizeable detour to get... More

If you want to try something different then this is the place. Their food and homemade bread is delicious and staff and atmosphere wonderful. Service was a bit slow but think this was due to the fact it was so busy.

Our hotel recommended St Georges Tavern to us and what a recommendation. No menu but just a constant supply of interesting food kept on coming until we just had to say - Thanks but no more. First impressions were that it was a little down at heel but we quickly realised this was to create the real local taverna feel.... More

Popped here on our last night having looked on tripadvisor and liked what we'd seen! This quaint, traditional taverna only serves meze, there is no menu. The meze dishes depend on their seasonal, home grown and home reared produce, making it very sustainable and above all, unique these days. We were warmly greeted by Ben who explained that they have... More

Firstly being a chef myself I always try to seek out genuine honest home cooked food and today what a great find ! Although a little off the beaten track it's well worth the effort ( try a visit at the beginning of your holiday as you will want to repeat the experience) The menu is set what they make... More

It should be noticed that the establishment is a very traditional one, in more ways than appearance. It is an old building of stone and wood. The two dining rooms are decorated with antiques and items from the old household of rural Cyprus. The garden is very pleasant with flowers and herbs growing all around it.

The food is traditional and seasonal. We cook everything that can grow in Cyprus, basing a lot of our food on traditional dishes, and wild vegetables, picked by ourselves. We serve Meze, which traditionally means delicate taste, and in Cyprus it is used to mean a variety of delicacies. A typical meze at the 7 St Georges will start with salad and between 6-10 appetizers, this will differ every night but may include, homegrown olives, cured meats, dips and pickles. The meze will continue with a variety of traditional and some times contemporary meat and vegetable dishes. We use only the best meats to provide mouthwatering roasts and succulent casseroles, you can expect to enjoy our now well known Kleftico (lamb or beef on the bone cooked in sealed ovens, succulent) and a vegetarians delight of vegetable dishes, depending on the season they will include, rice stuffed marrow flowers, bumyas (ochra) cooked in a tomato and mint sauce, black eyed beans with home grown marrow, tomato fritters, cheese and vegetable pies. The meze will be about 20 dishes, depending how much one can eat, expect to be surprised and delighted at the array of dishes that will be brought to you over the meal (expect to be eating for about 2 hours), at the 7 St Georges we serve quality food in an informal and comfortable setting, take your time and enjoy the experience.
