Good food, nice entertainment by their own classical musicians . Poor service from the vaitress who were totally stressed out and made us feel stressed to even though the place wasn't even 1/10 of full. She even told us that they didn't have any avec even though the place had a bar?! And she Also blamed the guests to be... More

Esterhazykeller is a genuine Viennese heuriger. The tavern is located in an old cellar and is known for simple food, good atmosphere and schrammelmusik. So do not expect a fine dining experience. I love my Wienerschnitzel and I'm sorry to say it was a disappointment. Get your schnitzel elsewhere, but come here for the overall ambience, which is great, with... More

The place was descent like catacomb you can feel you are under the surface. But this place has a very bad service also the air refresh was bad. The waiter didn't accept credit card due to low price excuse. Also didn't give receipt.

We were looking for a traditional Vienna restaurant and not a tourist trap. We tried one restaurant that looked promising however we were advised no tables were available. She advised to go down the alley and try the restaurant below. That restaurant was also full. We noticed the Keller restaurant across the alley and decided to give it a try.... More

Our concierge warned that service might be a problem at this establishment and she was correct. The waitress seemed very rushed as she dropped menus at our table. She immediately replied with a "no!" when one of our group asked if he could substitute fried potatoes for potato salad. After our order was placed a group of ~30 high school... More

We ordered Esterhazy burger and steaks. The food was good but the waiters were not fully polite. People that came after us were served before and faster.

The advantage of travelling alone is that you are able to forage and explore cities at your own pace and following your own priorities and preferences. Bright lights down an alleyway seem to call me into the warmth of this Keller and out of the November chill. Prompt service provided beer that I could enjoy while I perused a somewhat... More

a true Beisel - a simple restaurant, narrow choice of simple food, tasty enough, relaxed after long walks and visits in the city; lively, full of locals and tourists, centrally located, affordable. have already reviewed - this time we have stayed inside / "underground"; you will smell your visit from your clothes after returning to the hotel... ;) but when... This is a place you cannot miss in Vienna! It is not a fine restaurant, it is a true old Viennese place and it is still like it was probably 300 years ago. If you go with that spirit then they really deserve the 5 stars!! Food is traditional as they are, the place is so authentic. The play live... More

We passed this place while planning on eating at a top rated restaurant that turned out to be far too trendy for us. Came back here and so glad we did. Set into a true cellar, so small and intimate and not rushed. Very good food and plenty of it. good basic Austrian fare and very good service. Cash only... More

Description

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
