Ugly waiter. He was friendly only with the local people. The ,,original Wiener schnitzel,, has a POORE quality. (10.09.2016)

Terrible experience, the schmanckerl menue turned out to be a total flop: 1 soup (leberknoedlsuppe seemed to be expired, bad taste, industrial ingredients; potatoe soup (overcooked, probably the third time) 2 main dish: small portion of fried chicken (average 80s gastronomie), baked chicken liver (dry, strange taste), salad (side dish?) sucked in oil and vinegar after some minutes not eatable,... The food was very tasty and the portion size was nice. The beer was cold and the menu in English, which helped. As this was our first dinner out in Vienna I was surprised that the table water was 5Euro and the waiter dropped bread on the table, but charged us 1.2 Euro for each piece we ate, and we... More

Excellent food. It is not wonder why it is always full of locals. True schnitzel is the best we have eaten !! The menu has many local delicacies

We ate here the first night in Vienna when we couldn't find the beisel we were looking for. Tasty food, friendly waiter, plenty of locals in eating.

Hearty food at a low price. Service was very quick. Recommend the beef in red wine sauce and fried potatoes.

We wanted to have lunch off the tourist track so we chose this little restaurant at random. Clearly a local eating house at lunchtime and after a grumpy greeting by the waiter, we still decided to try it. I had the schnitzel ( of course) and Lynn had the white asparagus in a home made hollaiinday sauce. Our meals were... More

A small restaurant - a reservation necessary - with good food and reasonable prices. Unfortunately they didn't offer draft beer when we visited and the bottled beers we took were average at the most.

This restaurant came highly recommended but our experience was quite disappointing. The food was okay but nothing brilliant but staff/service was particularly poor. The waiter managed to totally get my desert order wrong. He then took it away to get it sorted out, only to return with the original desert covered with chocolate sauce and walnuts. He then ignored me... More

Tucked away in a side street near Graben, it's easy to miss this unassuming little beisel. The food is good Viennese classics, with a few other choices thrown in. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the city centre. Service is prompt (it does a brisk trade in business lunches, so it needs to be quick), and polite. There is... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
