ANDO is located at the lovely yppenplatz. The food (turkish-western european cuisine) is very tasty, has a good quality and the prices are moderate. Breakfast, lunch and dinner - the time for a ANDO visit does not matter, it is always good idea to go their.

... to write home about. Rather expensive for the area, but friendly service. Unusual food combinations. My wife found her salad not to fresh, but I liked my grilled stuff (Sate Spieß).

Have been there 100 times. Perfect to sit in the sun and drink coffe or eat mainly israeli food. Order the 'exotic salad', it is famous and the best. I know and love every dish they serve. Be careful to differ between the 'ando fish' restaurant (€€) and the 'ando' (€).

Certainly not the most exciting place in the world, but the neighbourhood is very friendly and the food is high quality. The local bank machine is a bit temperamental, and they don't take cards, so make sure you don't end up having to travel about 8 blocks to find and ATM and bring cash!

Although the place was a little hard to find and really out of the way, we had a wonderful dinner there. The seafood platter for 2 people consists of a whole sea bass prepared and de-boned at tableside, mussel, calamari, prawns, cod fillets, with parsley potatoes and grilled veggies for a grand total of E43.50 - very reasonable for a... There are TWO an do. One is a fish restaurant and the other is a Cafe with a turkish influences. The coffee is good, I think by far it was one of the best i've had in vienna, using illy coffee. The food is nice, turkish influences of meat and pitta bread. overall, very nice place and recommendable.

Went here on a Friday evening in the summer for a meal and drinks with friends. Great atmosphere, the square is buzzing but not too loud (though there is the odd accordion player.. depends if that's your thing!). The food is good and also good value, and the menu is varied with a few fair vegetarian options. The breakfast menu... More

We traveled to Vienna this week and did a little research here before hand. So glad we did, as one of the top choices for vegetarian options in Vienna happened to be a block away from our apartment - An-Do Restaurant. The atmosphere is casual, and the clientele was diverse - some local, some travelers, some college-aged from the nearby... More

I had a luck to visit An-Do with friends. Never heard a out it before. Just excellent, starting from service, very good atmosphere, good wine ... I ordered Calamari (grilled) ... the taste was perfect. Quite soft, not over ot under done. The main course was even better - Branzino cooked on salt (just like they do it in Portugal).... More

This place is hopping! It's in a really cool square in a very bohemian-feeling part of town with lots of ethnic and old Viennese type markets, independent shops, and restaurants. A little off the beaten trail, tourist-wise, but the natives sure are onto it. The restaurant itself is very expansive and in warm weather everyone in this place and neighboring... More

Staying in Ottakring

Neighbourhood Profile
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
