When the dates for our Vienna stay were firm, my husband did some research to find a place that would be celebrating Halloween. This pub was definitely the place to be. We arrived a bit early and were directed downstairs where we settled in. Before long the costumed revelers began to arrive and the party began. They even had a... More

Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Jason not friendly and could do with going on a customer service course. He would not encourage you to return. Good atmosphere for food and drink. Central location.

I stopped twice in this pub, the first one to try the grasshoppers and the second because the first experience was really good. The staff tries really hard to make you feel in Australia with decorations and cordiality. Beers are ok, food is very good (a bit expensive perhaps) and my waitress was really friendly. The grasshoppers were a bit... More

Great pub with great atmosphere, food and beer! Try domestic beer with ice, we all really liked it. We tried kangaroo steak, Crossfield's starters, some burgers, everything was delicious, I recommend everything. We were lucky to enter without reservations, but on Friday night (when we tried again) we couldn't find the place, even though there were just the two of... More

Great little place for an Aussie beer- try the Coopers Pale Ale. Only feedback would be the Vegemite was spread a little thick! I had the Blue Mountain burger and it was very tasty. Fantastic Atmosphere.

Came here for Australia Day celebrations - there was barely any, they just put up some flags. Waiter was terribly rude and spoke to me like I didn't understand a word of English. Overall decor and environment is cheesy and unauthentic (check out the fibreglass croc on the wall). Do yourself a favour, if you're an expat missing a bit... More

The Australian theme for this pub is a bit stretched. You are able to buy an Australian beer (VB) and there is some Australian memorabilia on the walls (number plates, mandatory surf board with shark bite). It is very smoky (haven't had that in Australia for decades) and grilled grasshoppers were on the menu! The place seems to have the... More

If you go out and you wanna have a drink without anything fancy, it's ok to go there and have an expensive drink with quite unfriendly waiters serving it at least fast.

Description
Vienna is different!

With an Australian culinary outpost located in the heart of the city. Go down into the world of down under - we serve exotic titbits such as tender ostrich and kangaroo steaks or fried grasshoppers in the middle of an Australian opal mine. Here you can also have the juiciest burgers and beefsteaks. Along with the meals, we also serve a superior selection of Australian wines and great Aussie beers including Fosters, Ayers Rock Red, VB, James Boags, Coopers to name but a few.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
