Stoped just for a drink, very laid back atmosphere , lots of books if you fancy that, bear of the month is €3.40, not bad for Vienna, massive t.v. screen if you fancy the footie, would go back.

We went there as it was highly recommended by a friend. I had high expectations and I felt sorry that they were not met. The idea about the interior is very nice- looks like a library where you meet friends, you can as well sit alone and have a drink. However the execution is bad- everything is really old and... More

Been to this bar a few times in last couple of years. Friendly staff, good beer and coffee. Nice bar food and a large screen for watching soccer. It's an odd mixture of library and sports bar but I love it.

Yup a bar in a bookshop, my idea of heaven. Watched the England Wales game here whilst sheltering from the sweltering heat. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Good beer too.

I had purchased some books from a nearby bookstore and was looking for somewhere that I could read it while sipping on a pint; the clerk at the store suggested this place. Great recommendation! I was there on a Friday evening so it was quite packed and a bit noisy at the time, but I was able to find a... More

Enjoyed a family drink and scrumptious brownie with whipped cream. Yummy and fairly priced too.Atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming so its worth while going out of your way to drop in here.

Popped in as it was close to our hotel. Just made it for happy hour. Excellent Cosmopolitan and decent Goffel beer. We both had schnitzel which came with salad and superb fries. Friendly, English-speaking staff, great music, really good atmosphere. Highly recommended

Beside the fact, that it takes an eternity until you get the menu, possibility to order or bill, burgers are good!

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
