Visited this typical Austrian pub for an early dinner. Not much on the menu for vegetarian's but thought it would be safe to order a "cream of vegetable soup". Soup came as a broth, with chunks of vegetables. Thinking one reddish piece of vegetable was a beet, I ate it and discovered it was not a vegetable at all but... More

Like the title says - it was just ok. Restaurant offers typical Austrian dishes at very reasonable prices. Soup with liver dumplings was great and beef stew was over spiced with red paprika but the meat was really tender. Staff works really fast and we did not wait too long for our meal although restaurant was overcrowded. Atmosphere is cheerful... More

Ate here twice and enjoyed both occasions. Good traditional food - no frills. Good value with quick service. Cheaper than most in the area. Always busy so reserve if you really need to eat here.

We asked fried instead of salad for the schnitzels and they said it was ok. sausages was a dissapointment, 2 sausages with mustard, they brought as salad in seperate plates and schnitzel with fries . it was ok. When we asked the check we... More

Compared to most of the other restaurants in the heart of Vienna, this is the cheapest restaurant you can find. The food is very good and portions are also generous. The place is always busy so probably you have to wait for a seating, but the service is fast. The staff have a cold attitude probably due to the fact... More

I was told to visit Reinthaler's Beisl by a professor who had lived in Vienna for some time. It was easy to spot (because there were so many people seated outside enjoying a bier and looking merry!) The ambiance was perfect and the food even more so!

Let me just start by saying we did not manage to eat or drink at the restaurant so that's not what the review is about. We went there twice hoping to do so but were unsuccessful. Each time we saw someone at the cash register by the door, tried to get his attention, even managed to tap his shoulder twice... More

This place was recommended by a tour guide, she was certainly correct. The feeling inside was oldy worldly, rustic ... the menu had several obviously home cooked dishes, very traditional at that. I had the boiled beef, another of the party had home made sausages and the other the goulash. All the meals were excellent. Staff friendly and attentive. Would... More

Being a local (I lived in Vienna now for over 5 years) this is the place I take my friends from abroad. Yes, it is a busy place and getting a table at peak times might be difficult, depending on the time of year, so planning maybe a early or late supper was my way of getting around waiting times.... Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
