A place for jazz lovers (and newcomers), authentic atmosphere, quality music, reasonable prices, drinks could be better. Austrian group's "Jazzodrome" December 2015 concert was superb.

its not easy to get tickets to porgy and as every venue, it also has a snob audience who might be a bit disturbing on some gigs. fortunately porgy also offers gigs and formations far from being commerce or well-known and these concerts easily turn this venue one of the best in town and in fact, it is one of... Decided to go to Porgy and Bess on a whim as it was just one of 2 jazz music venues in Vienna (according to the guidebook). Watched Michael Gieselhart and Orchestra- they were really good. Great compositions and solos. Acoustics in the room were good too. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our trip to this great jazz club. The tapas style food was delicious and the music had us tapping our feet for the rest of the night.

This should not be listed here, but under things to do. They serve drinks, sure, but people come to listen to music. International top class artists.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
