Tried the national dish and what can I say? It is amazing what you can make of the 'simplest' of vegetables.. it was amazing! Compliments to the chef.. enjoyed every bite and couldn't stop. It is not cheap but worth it! The only downside of this restaurant is the acoustic. Even though there were only few guests, you couldn't help... More

The food was terrible and the service even worse. We were shouted at & made us feel like 2nd class citizen. They do not know how to treat customers & would not recommend this place to anyone.

My family wanted to spend New Years Eve in Vienna this year. We were recommended this restaurant by some patrons who visited the place previously. When we called earlier in the day, we were told that we would have to be there from 7:45-8:00p and get out of there by 9pm as they had that table booked for people at... More

First, you have to order a drink, it's not allowed to drink tap water, they will charge you €1,90 if you order tap water. Second - the kitchen is now terrible: cupcake-like disgusting veggie muffins instead of deep fried sri lanka rolls, the vegetables were cold, the meat horrible and only the rice and the salad edible. Save your money... More

Right from the get go the staff was amazing! As the night went on we asked if they could make Espresso Martinis, none had ever heard of the drink so they made one to try out. My girlfriend usually orders them, I've never ordered one myself but this one was beyond any I had, had in the world including Sydney,... More

Family run, food that is not only tasty but fresh and well served. The starter salad, had spices that along with the pineapple, made the dish pop. My soya main, was wonderful. You would swear the soya was the finest beef, but no, all vegetable. Beef producers should be afraid. If you have a carnivore to feed, order this meal... More

We decided to try sri lanka restaurant (we use to eat indian food) and we had a GREAT culinary experience! We ordered vegeterian dishes, the soya and the vegeterian curry were so good. If you like extra hot1, order the an additonal hot paste (you can add to the curry)👍

Found this place after a recommendation, we were tired and hungry so thought a buffet was a good idea, how right we were, not a huge selection but all very well cooked, run by a husband and wife, food was very very tasty in a pleasant garden setting, very good value for money indeed.

Recommend this nice restaurant. Food was delicious and authentic. Not far from the metro station so worth trying. Staff were friendly and tried their best. Service can be a little slow but may be that's because of staff coverage.

Staying in Margareten

Neighbourhood Profile
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
