We have had a Sunday brunch in Urania. The view to the canal donates a lot to the experience. The food itself is quite basic, normal for Vienna. Typical breakfast options, that may be accompanied with fried eggs to one's liking. We have had the breakfast option for 2 persons, where you get a 3-plate tower with cheese, meat, fish... More

This restaurant is beautifully situated in a central location, with excellent views of the canal. It has a super menu, with a pleasing range of attractive items. The service is brilliant. Highly recommended for all meals.

Nice, quiet place on the bank of Danube. I had a salad and coffee. Service was normal. Without delay. If you are in a rush and want a quick bite of quality food – Urania is a good choice.

Fresh food, well cooked with a good wine list, we really enjoyed the meal, then smelt cigarette smoke in the restaurant and found out people are allowed to smoke in the bar which really spoiled the evening.

We had a nice evening at the terrace. Not the cheapest place but nice and good for hot summer evenings.

We were there late August together with a bigger internationsl party. I had 2 Aperol-Soda. Usually, Austrian bars offer that on their menu, if they don't, they just calculate the 2 ingredients separatly (4cl Aperol, 250ml sparkling water called 'Soda'), I would have also been OK with paying for an 'Aperol-Spritzer' even though I didn't have the wine. When we... More

Very nice lunch at the balcony of Urania, overlooking the Danube canal. We picked the set lunch menu, which was excellent. The waitress was busy dealing with a drunken woman who had been left behind by a male customer and was sleeping on a bench inside, it was quite funny. She was great. Will be back if I get a... More

Simple, yes. But, Location. View on Danube canal. Friendly service. Good music in the background. Good food. Inexpensive compared to the same food in a fancy cafe. Highly recommend!

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
