Happened to discover this when walking up the steps from the museums quartier (can be accessed by tram from gasse Karl Schweighofer). classic european garden restaurant on an early summer day, was a good first lunch experience in Vienna. place was busy as everyone says...More

Nice location in the middle of vienna with a beautiful guest garden. The service is fast but don't come here for the food. Way to pricey with an absolute lack of taste. Nice dishes in theory but the dishes lack any flavor making them average...More

The place is quite popular as it was full all the time during our stay. The cuisine is mainly Austrian, but nothing special. It was very hot in and outside which is understandable considering where is situated.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel receptionist. We arrived on a busy evening but quickly found a table. The staff were attentive and efficient. The food was decent but a little rich for our palates. The cost was fairly low compared to near-by...More

We had a delicious lunch here yesterday after visiting the museum quarter. It was right behind the museum block, but well hidden in a garden-like setting with indoor and outdoor seating. We had the wiener schnitzel, guinea fowl with chantrelle mushroom risotto, and dumplings stuffed...More

Food in Vienna is not of a high a standard as it should be. There, I said it. It's tough for such a large place as Glacis Beisl, I have to admit. But the setting is truly gorgeous which makes up for a lot. They...More

Just had an extremely disappointing lunch at the Glacis Beisl. It wasn't the food, it wasn't the location. Both are fine. It was the service. I've lived in Europe for nearly 20 years, I'm used to a different standard of service, but this was simply...More

Located close to museumquarter this restaurant is a must. Easy to miss so look out for a staircase heading downstairs. I had the tafelspitz with hashbrowns. The meat was super tender and the hash was perfect. Meat and potatoes and beer, can't go wrong. Would...More

The place is nice and cosy. Prices are ok compared to the average in Vienna. It may be a good idea to book a table in advance as the place is pretty crowded.

I guess we were there at prime time, but I found the closeness of the tables and volume of crowd in the outdoor courtyard a bit negative. We tried the house wine and found the red ok, and white poor. I had the schnitzel, which...More

Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries,
arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde
shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with
cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make
for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and
art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at
Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a
perfect hangout on a warm summer evening.
