Visited Charlies a few times when in Vienna for a football match. I thought Charlies really made the effort and were very accomadating to the thousands that travelled. Their bar service was fast although I found the table service quite slow, the food was nice and the staff were friendly. Overall good experience.

This place rocks the food and the atmosphere reminds me of Ireland. Can't beat this place by any standard.

Visited while over watching the Austria v Ireland match, place came across very grubby and dirty. Nightclub downstairs is a random seedy place. Door staff were absolutely diabolical, heard them making all types of excuses to refuse people, one going as far as saying the Irish fans had put a colleague in hospital and hence the reason he wasn't letting... Excellent pub, quality service and good food. This was my second visit to Vienna, and I was looking forward to going back here most of all. This is an excellent bar, even with 300 Irish football fans swarming around, getting a drink was no trouble. I highly recommend this bar.

A great spot for a few pre/post match beers but not the cleanest of places, could do with an upgrade!

This review is very simple : the best pub in town ! No need to comment on the high standard of drinks and food. But try the oysters and the burger, as they are my favorites. The oysters wrt quality and taste, the burger medium rare I consider best buy. Others swear fish and chips are nr.1... Service - for... More

If you wish a hardy hamburger, steak, or seafood meal at a reasonable price in a 'upbeat' atmosphere, Charlie P's is for you. A little hard to get through the college crowd standing in the front room and bar, but seating is cozy and quiet and not smokey. Reservations recommended for seating after 1800.

When pubs set out to provide very high quality food and service, it often, sadly and predictably, slips back to the lowest common denominator. This is not the case with Charlie Ps dining room which as only become even better in the more than 10 years since I first sampled their wares. Seasonal revisions of the innovative menu make rediscovery... More

After a day of walking in old Vienna, we needed a good meal. Walking into the bar with folks in their team's colors, smoke wafting and big beer steins, we were worried but through the doors to the restaurant was a good surprise. The service was good. The meals were well prepared. The people watching added spice. We had a... More

Description
In 2014 our Dining Room was honoured with a Haube from the Gault Millau restaurant guide, the first Irish pub in the world to receive such a recognition. Our kitchen team travels on a regular basis to Ireland and Great Britain in search of inspiration and new ideas and ingredients for our menus. Our goal with the Dining Room is to portray a picture of the best of contemporary Irish and British gastronomy. Our 28 day dry aged beef is specially prepared for us and imported from F.X. Buckleys craft butchers in Ireland, our prawns are sourced from the west of Ireland, our lamb from Tullamore, Co. Tipperary. We also search the whole of Austria for the finest vegetables and herbs. All of our dishes are prepared from scratch in our kitchen and our menus are based on seasonality using the freshest produce possible. We have recently expanded our wine menu to include over 77 bottles of Austrian and international wines. Our service team will be happy to recommend a wine pairing for each of our dishes. We have put together, with much love and attention, a wide assortment of local and international beers including over 20 craft beers and homemade organic cider. Beer is a serious passion for us and our team, which includes a number of beer sommeliers. On request we can screen almost any live sports events, most noteably, English Premier League, Champions League, Bundesliga, and Six Nations Rugby. Downstairs at Charlie P's you will find an diverse mix of nightlife including our immensely popular, 13 year running Pub Quiz, Rock n' Roll Karaoke (minus the Abba), the legendary Medical Tuesdays and Get The Funk Out Friday from Vienna's Godfather of Soul, DJ Shorty! Free WiFi is available to all our guests.

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighbourhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighbourhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
