No good service at all. No big variety of sweets as in other cafés in Vienna. The whole room smells badly from the kitchen and for sure needs renovation.

the service is cold to say the least. This is the type of european cafe many tend to call "quaint", but the service is just plain rude. There are better places to eat in town.

We found Cafe Ritter after searching the map for Kaiserschmarrn. It was a short walk from our dinner location and in the middle of a premium shopping area. The desserts are large portions and quite tasty. I had an apple strudel, although I was disappointed that it was served cold. Our waiter was swift and friendly, speaking German and English... More

Capucchino is good, chees/ham sandwitch is terrible, service is hostile and they gave me dirty soiled spoon and when i pointed out how dirty it is there is no explanation or excuse like it is my fault.

We were staying just opposite this cafe so, after looking at their menu, decided to have a meal here. It was very busy and hard to find a table for 4 people, we wanted to avoid the smoking area at the back. We all bunched around a small table and gave the waiter our orders. Two of us had the... Cafe Ritter has a very sylish exterior giving the false impression that it's an expensive venue. Not so; prices standard fayre for a City Centre cafe. Usual range of drinks, breads and pastries. Set breakfast menus including American & traditional. All tasted very fresh. Staff polite and efficient.

The service was slow and the waiter did not really pay attention to us. We needed to pay before even getting the food.

Look at the ceiling and you see the history of this building. Coffee and hot Chocolat are very good and the backery is also worth it.

It s a great place where you xan eat the breakfast! You have to sit on a table near to a window, so you can see the people, the rush while you are eating a good meal. Also if you are smoker, you have a separate space where you can drink your caffe and enjoy it!

The cafe Ritter was located near the hotel I was staying while in Vienna. The menu offered a selection of local dishes and desserts. The food was very good and the service was great. It isn't very large so it may take some time to get a table.

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
