Stumbled across the 'brewery tap' of the local brewers which had the the finest and longest set of beer taps we've ever seen. Some 30 + beers from the brewer Mack's and other small and craft brewers. Nice atmosphere and good beers(at least what we had was good. British 'style' porter good as was the Christmas beer. We tried several... More

This is the oldest pub in Tromso, and it's just plain funky inside, full of historical character, right down to the giant stuffed standing polar bear....in homage to Norwegian Henri Rudd, who was the king of killing polar bears in the old days. The pub was built in 1928, and appeared to me to be the hangout of locals as... More

We were in Tromso whilst on a cruise from the UK and popped into the Olhallen for a 'liquid lunch' following a visit to the Polaria centre just down the road. What a lovely, dark, cosy and atmospheric place to have a drink and enjoy the lively locals enjoying themselves. A vast selection of beers to choose from, lots of... More

We stopped here in the late afternoon after a tour of the town and found the scene lively and friendly, the beer we had tasty. Too bad we had a limited amount of time; it looks as though it would be a great place for the locals.

Well if you like to try various beers this is the place to go... weirdly it's busier during the day than it is late at night... I managed to try a few of the various beers but would need to be there for a month to get through the full range... Everyone as always in Norway were very friendly and... More

On a visit to Tromso to see the Northern Lights, it seemed a good idea to visit the city's oldest pub - adjacent to Mack's brewery. It is worth a visit with a wide array of beers and lots of history on its walls - even a huge stuffed polar bear! But be prepared to pay - two cans of... More

We loved this place. We were too late for the brewery visit so popped into the pub.Its eye wateringly expensive compared to home. But 50 beers to try and its infectious. You try one and you want another ! Our first two little glasses cost us £20 ! and they really were small but once we got over the pain of the price... More

This place is the origin of brewpub history of tromso. There are more than 50 microbrewery taps and close to 10 industrial beer taps. You just get beer and some snacks here - no food. The experience is authentic. The bartender helps you with good reccos if you need one. You can also sample 5 beers ( 200 ml each... More
