My last night in Oslo concluded with an unforgettable dinner at Statholdergaarden. The room is impeccable, with deep plaster molding on the ceiling which is painted a lovely Wedgewood green. The table setting (linens, plates, cutlery, glassware, etc.) are so well thought-out and truly contribute...More

Went there the first time now, and wow. The staff is really professional, the food is great, they make vegan food if you let them know in advance, and the atmosphere is amazing. 10/10 in everything.

We ate in their downstairs “Mat & Vinkjeller” which I gather is less expensive than the upstairs restaurant. Loved the 10-course meal: small plates—5 with fish, then a palate cleansing granitee, venison, lamb, cheese course, and a dessert. The cost was 695 Norwegian kroner pp,...More

Oslo is an expensive city even by London standards. You would therefore expect one of its best restaurants, boasting a Michelin star, to be pricey. It is. It may be vulgar to discuss money especially in the context of such a fine establishment but if...More

This is a smallish restaurant with an intimate atmosphere and imaginative, first class food. We chose the 12 course taster menu with an accompanying wine option. Our server was a charming young woman from the middle of Norway who kept a good balance between being...More

We were here on a family dinner and were greeted by a very friendly staff that were professional and knowledgeable. The Amuse-bouche were like small taste explosions that prepared us for the 6 course menu we had chosen. Not all of the wines were to...More

I'm not so concerned about halal. The citchen is typically French, and I do not think they put too much emphasis on halal. Your question is best answered directly from the establishment.

Description
One of the finest gourmet restaurants in Oslo, located in a 17th-century building in the old city centre. The ceiling has some of the finest stucco work in Northern Europe. The chef, Bent Stiansen, won the prestigious chef championship Bocuse d'Or in 1993. Order from the à la carte menu or try the six-course menu of the day. The menu is composed of the best ingredients available at the time Stiansen uses high-quality Norwegian ingredients, coloured by European tradition. Chambre separée for 8-24 persons. In the basement you find the more informal Statholderens Krostue, which is open for both lunch and dinner.
