The place is great, don't get confused on the area, which is not at all to be compared with Statholdergaardens ambiance and surroundings really cozy with great classic style. The service was fantastisc, always attentive without pushy. After a little reluctancy on filling the glasses...More

1 star in Michelin guide within the city center of Oslo. The ambience inside the restaurant is ok, food is perfect and service is just fine.

This is a number one restaurant. The chef (and owner) is one of Norway`s best. You may find him walking between the tables chatting with the guests.

Had quite high expectations, but unfortunately they didn't deliver in relation to standing and price. Very good food but nothing really spectacular. The service was too laid back in this price range. Not sloppy but you would expect more attention.

The menu gives plenty of choice and the helpful staff are prepared to be flexible and accommodate any idiosyncrasies. So, two of our party had the substantial 4 course menu (which came with 4 amuses bouches and a palate cleanser of 'semi-freddo' yoghourt with celery,...More

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and decided to try out Statholdergaarden. The expectations were high and we did not waste time pondering over the menu. We went for "Todays menu" with 5 courses and a corresponding wine menu. Our waiter ( an apprentice...More

I'm not so concerned about halal. The citchen is typically French, and I do not think they put too much emphasis on halal. Your question is best answered directly from the establishment.

Description
One of the finest gourmet restaurants in Oslo, located in a 17th-century building in the old city centre. The ceiling has some of the finest stucco work in Northern Europe. The chef, Bent Stiansen, won the prestigious chef championship Bocuse d'Or in 1993. Order from the à la carte menu or try the six-course menu of the day. The menu is composed of the best ingredients available at the time Stiansen uses high-quality Norwegian ingredients, coloured by European tradition. Chambre separée for 8-24 persons. In the basement you find the more informal Statholderens Krostue, which is open for both lunch and dinner.
