Our food tour guide recommended this restaurant, though she suggested it was "pretty casual", we felt a bit underdressed - we'd just finished walking 20km through Oslo. This is a Michelin Recognised restaurant, so the food is excellent, and surprisingly well priced compared to many of the tourist trap restaurants closer to downton. The staff were very accommodating, my fiancé... More

The staff at Arakataka prepared a vegan tasting menu for my husband with just one day's notice, and it was excellent! Often, a restaurant will just remove the meat and dairy from a dish and call it good, but they actually prepared delicious dishes for him. I had the regular tasting menu, and it was one of the best dinners... More

Possibly one of favourite restaurants I have eaten in, we truly loved the restaurant interior , ambience and food. Everything made this a special restaurant and you can tell that this is a bunch of very talented young chefs. Two absolute stand out dishes , deer tartare and fish roe spaghetti This is a must if you traveling to Oslo,... More

Nordic food with a modern twist. Generally the number of ingredients that constitute the dish is too large; they could be reduced to the essentials. Two out of five courses were too oily. The use of flavoured oils should definitely be reduced. The lamb tartare as well as the veal tongue would have been better without the oils. The service... More

This is the second time I have visited this restaurant. The first time was about 4-5 years ago. I then only thought it was average and it took me a long time before I decided to give it one more try. The atmosphere is really nice and the service was very good, however they have the worst chairs in the... More

A person we met on a cruise recommend us this place so happy he did! The best food I have eaten in Olso and friendly staff. The fact that you can see the chefs preparing your food enhances the experience. We all had the 5 course menu which was fabulous! The beef tartare and bone marrow was a explosion of... More

The staff at this restaurant balances perfectly on attention and taking care of their guests. You are seen, but also left in peace to enjoy the food and company you are with. The food is special and with flavour combinations not found elsewhere. Their signature dish of spagetthi with roe sounds peculiar - and is nothing less than amazing. When... More
