We stumbled upon this place and I am so glad we did! It looked like a lovely neighborhood pub/restaurant, which is our favorite kind of find. And, it was! Actually, naboen means neighbor! We chose to eat in the downstairs pub. You find a table,...More

Their basement is a cosy place to hang out for a beer. Ok/average burgers. Can't speak for any of their other dishes though.

The food is good. I had a long cooked steak of moose. Excellent quality on the food. Maybe a little to much lingonberry. Service is good as always😊

Dear Remi We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed our moose and our service - but there can never be too much lingonberries, can there :D Thanks for great feedback, Remi!

Very good fish-of-the-day and nice staff! A recommandable detour from the tourist route with reasonable prices.

As someone below has already noted, this restaurant is of a high enough standard to compete anywhere. And while it is considered "Scandinavian", it is arguably more Swedish than Norwegian. Overall, I have little to add to the many favourable comments below other than to...More

I found this restaurant thanks to trip advisor and it turned to be a great experience! The food was awesome (I really recommend the moose even though the three other dishes we took were very good), the service was excellent. The price are justified for...More

Excellent food, original and well cooked, prepared and presented. And this not only compared to Norwegian standards (admittedly not the best cuisine in the world), but could compete with high standard international restaurants. The desserts were particularly inventive - and desserts are always revealing. The...More

My husband and I dined in the pub. Pleasant, efficient waitress who graciously accommodated my vegetarian diet. Both of our choices were delicious and portion sizes were more than we could eat. Great beer selection and the house red by the glass was very good.

Dear Judy There is no access ramp, but it's only two steps from the sidewalk to the entrance door so it is possible for most wheelchair users to access the restaurant.

Description
The name "Naboen" means neighbor, and this is just what the Naboen Pub & Restaurant is, a friendly and inviting place to eat and drink. Hospitality is job one here, and the Scandinavian kitchen, staff and culinary tradition are representative of Norway. The food is all made from scratch, as it would have been two hundred years ago - no processed ingredients allowed. Naboens' menu is a culinary delight, one heaped in Nordic tradition, and best of all moderately priced. Guests here partake of Norwegian food and spirits as they should be enjoyed, Bergen style.
