Upon arrival, I was greeted by a maitre d'. First time I experienced this in this city. I arrived quite late, so the grand menu was not available, so I went for catch of the day and a fish soup for starter. The fish soup was good, but the taste was shadowed by the choice of wine. The main course... More

We were told this was a seafood restaurant so we were looking forward to an extensive menu, however the way this restaurant works is they pick one ingredient (fish) and prepare it in multiple ways. When we were there it was cod. You can choose a 2, 4 or 6 course menu but it is all based on the cod... More

The best restaurant in Aalesund, and one of my favorite restaurants! Every dish is wonderful, the wine is great, location and interior is beautiful, and the service is excellent! If you are going to Aalesund be sure to visit Maki!

This was a fine dining experience, we had the 6 course menu and enjoyed it very much. The restaurant is small, and quaint, inside the very nice hotel on the water in the heart of Alesund. The service was good and the wine was also very good. This was our first time having whale, a local delicacy.

With set courses - 2, 4 or 6, the only consideration you must make is how hungry you are (and how much money to spend). If you can, go for as many dishes as possible, as every one is unique and deliciously prepared and served. We did not go for the wine package as it was (after all) a business... More

We had the four course menu which was simply delicious. Good waitress who explained in detail every dish. £150 for two people is pricey for most Brits but that's Norway. Would definitely come back!

I saw good reviews on here and decided to try this restaurant. I can not remember if a la carte was available but I chose the four-course menu. The course was excellent though it's quite well-priced. The main was monkfish, which was not chewy but very tender. Tiramisu was not as simple as tiramisu, very creative. All the staff were... More

We had the four course and it was more than enough, Pollock was good the best dish for me was the Crab soup which was the highlight, Monkfish main was also good and the Popcorn Chocolate Ice cream to round it all off. The tasting menu was a great choice since many of the items on the menu I had never tried before. I'm sure they switch it often so maybe check in. It was all a great selection of locally sourced produce. I would go back for sure.
