We found this restaurant and takeaway at the far end of a long shopping street. The weather was inclement and we were glad to get out of the cold. We had fish and chips which were well cooked and tasty. We will visit again when in the area.

We were able to peruse the menu at our leisure. Prompt and pleasant service. Excellent choice. Hot fresh and tasty food, a great antidote to a stroll on a windy beach. Reasonable pricing. Not at all disappointed

Worst deco I've seen, ever. There is so many signs in this place that I'm wondering whether or not it's to distract you from the dull experience anybody must have at this chip shop cafe. A pleasant young lad but overall not impressed with the service. Nothing unique or different about this place it's really dated and needs a revamp.... More

On tour, I hunt down somewhere to eat and I'm rather picky about that. I've lost count of chippies I've visited, some good, some bad, some truly amazing. This falls into the "good" area of my reviews. The quality of food is rather respectable and fair priced, though for an attraction resort, you pay more than you would elsewhere. The... More

Have called here several times and never had a bad meal. Had jacket potato with tuna but then fancied the lemon meringue pie. I was told that there was butter in the Base and as I have a milk allergy I could not have. We had a couple of friends who are vegan. They said why don't you have the... More

Out to Llandudno for New Year's Eve day time. After a lovely long walk the full length of the prom and look round all the shops we stopped at The Barnacle for lunch. We both ( my wife ) had the cod special. Fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter I had pot of tea and my wife had hot... More

Very impressed. Tiny place, edge of Wales and here is a cafe with more options than most inner city restuarants! I had the vegan hotpot, very nice although if you're hungry have some chips or beans with it. I then had Apple crumble with vegan ice cream. Could almost have cried as so many places don't have a vegan dessert... More

Cold winters evening we decided to find a fish and chip shop after a walk on the beach. There are about 6 places to choose from and we opted for Barnacles as it was on the main road and was busy. We were both impressed with the fish and chips, the batter was light and the chips were crispy. My... More
