This small historical pub on Poole Quay offers a range of different and tasty fish dishes. Not much choice for on-fishy people but that's not the point of visiting it. Food is well prepared and delicious and service excellent.

We head here first as soon as we get to Poole don't 'FLOUNDER' around but try the ARMS. If you love fish, this is the 'PLAICE'. IF you like real ale this is the 'PROPER JOB' Sometimes it is rather busy so you may have to 'MUSSEL' your way in. May I suggest you ring in advance and book for... More

I'm vegetarian but the landlord did a beautiful salad for me. The rest of my party had fish and it did look amazing! I also had the sticky toffee pudding which was so light it practically floated off the plate! Will certainly be back!

I visited this pub with a group of friends. I recommend you book in advance as it can be very popular and there aren't many tables. Between the 5 of us we tried: Starters - Herring Roes, Moules Mariniere & Cornish Sardines. For the Mains - Local Crab Salad (wasn't served with any sauce and on a bed of basic... More

On a cold, dark November night in 2015 my husband and I were visiting the area and looking for somewhere to eat. Not many places were open and the Poole Arms looked from the outside like just a drinking sort of pub. We were about to walk on when a chap standing in the doorway for a smoke told us... More

If you love fish meals then this is the place for you, although now they do offer a meat meal as well. If you're expecting chips then you will be disappointed. I've had several different meals here and they were all 1st class. There is also a well stock bar as well if you fancy a drink or two. The... More

The food is good the service excellent, friendly but not servile, considerate and not over- bearing. The location is fascinating, a busy quay-side. The building is fascinating and the loos an education.

We visited on Saturday 6th May and I have to say it was a marvellous meal, great atmosphere and lovely staff, it's not a massive restaurant and I would suggest booking as it fills up extremely quickly and the chance of getting a table by walking in is slim. The food was fresh very tasty and worth every penny, although... More

Every time I am here I always come to this pub. The seafood here is the best in poole. Had a fish pie (Friday night) and came back on Saturday for a crab sandwiches! Great value washed down with some great beer. Service is superb!
