Lovely friendly staff, very comfortable beer garden. Must agree with other reviewers that the food is adequate but portions small & don't always reflect what's on the menu. Drinks were served quickly, no problems.
Hopefully food will be tweaked & back to how it used...to be soon.More

Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We will pass on the feedback to our team! We look forward to your next visit! Take care!
I am a 12 year old girl so not entirely a young kid but when me and my brothers and grandparents went to the restaurant here, I was quite disappointed as because as i’m not really young, and am able to eat a lot I...was getting it off the adult menu. But there were only plant based burgers and a burger with posh stuff galore so there wasn’t a simple cheeseburger or anything so I got a kids one. I was very disappointed as the patty/meat was as thin as a biscuit and the bun tasted really bitter. It makes me disappointed that they think just because a kid is going to eat it even if it was a young kid, it is acceptable to serve this. I will not be going there again!More

It’s with great sadness that I read about your disappointment regarding your last visit
The children burger is one of our best selling item on the children menu and is loved by many, so is our house burger.

Was looking forward to going back after lockdown. Booked and met friend for evening meal. Limited choice -some items on menu not available.
Incredibly mean portion sizes. We had 2 very ordinary main meals and 2 soft drinks. I was very surprised at bill of...close to £50! Unimpressed.
Will find somewhere different next time.More

Hi Joncw72, thank you so much for your positive comments about The Golden Ball Inn!
Hubby and I visited 29th Sept and had a fabulous meal. I had the lamb rump and hubby had beef bouginion. Both meals were freshly cooked and very tasty. Finished off with the baked cheesecake. Felt covid safe too.

Meals at this establishment or really, really good. Excellent dining and good VFM. Plenty of seating and a full bar. Waitress was very courteous and charming. Enjoyed dining at this place. Thanks once again.
