Had really good lunch yesterday. Roast beef was tasty and the pork with apricot stuffing was excellent. Puds also good. Roasts were only £9 which is super value - they come with lots of good veg too. Quite a lot of drinkers in the pub and about 5 tables eating. The only issue for us was the uncertainty about pub's... More

What a great idea. Breakfast club first Saturday in the month. Absolutely brilliant, great value for money and so enjoyable. The new hosts are John and Linda. They are so welcoming and just make everything so enjoyable. Have already booked for December.

The pub has just started serving food since the new management took over in August (John and Linda O'Grady, they have run a few local Bedford village pubs) they have a fish and chips night every Friday and you can takeaway too...the fish was non-greasy and done in beer batter using the pubs real ales - delicious. We'll be back... More

Everything Chef Andy prepares is great. Just love this pub, lovebig hugs to the staff, adore the food. What more can I say? Wish I was still there enjoying a couple of delicious pints before a good meal. Their Sunday roasts, by the way, are the best I've tasted in England.

Stopped for lunch at this very typical village pub, no frills but very friendly landlord. Good beer and a good selection from the menu. If you are looking for somewhere posh, this is not for you, but for somewhere typical, give it a go.

Went to the pub on some one recommendations, that the food was very good. Yes it was a lovely meal. But to be aware the pub is so tired, it lacks the personal touch. Entrance door is full of cobweb and dirty, the toilets are very dirty, cobwebs, spiders, the bin is so dirty it needs to go in the... More

I've been here a few times over the years, but the cooking seems to have stepped up recently. Roast beef is so often a dispiriting experience with overlooked thin slices of tasteless beef and bullet-hard roasties. Not here! I was initially alarmed by the pinkness of the beef. I usually like it rare, but this looked blue! However, the texture... More

This is the first time we had been here for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. 2 thick slices of roast beef cooked to perfection. Succulent, tender and tasty and still pink in the middle. This was accompanied by a large light and perfect Yorkshire pudding, fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside roast potatoes and beautifully... More
