Fabulous old building ruined by lots of full height glass doors trying to make it more modern Lunch with a friend and her 9 year old, waitress disinterested, didn't listen to order and consequently made 3 errors. Food OK but only just. Wouldn't recommend menu,...More

We were staying at The Ostrich Inn overnight so when we were asked if we'd like to book a table for dinner we said yes as felt it would be more relaxing to be able to eat there than try and find somewhere else. The...More

This is a comfortable pub with pleasant staff. There are tables outside which are nice in the warm weather, but which suffer a little from aeroplane and road noise. The food is good - portions are big, although it is not cheap. There isn't much...More

I booked a table for my niece's 18th birthday, and on arrival they couldn't find the reservation. Never mind, they had room, and to be honest, the food was wonderful, the drinks equally so, but oh, the service. The manager claimed they were short staffed,...More

I visited here on two occasions whilst staying at the nearby Travelodge and I enjoyed a pint of Stout on each occasion. Very nice pub and good atmosphere. The Stount was excellent too.

This restaurant is a 10 minute walk from the Holiday Inn Express and well worth it. It is a centuries old building that has kept a lot of charm and character. Food and cider were both excellent.

Ate hear with a work colleague today and was very impressed with the place. We ate in the pub rather than the restaurant. It's not your usual pub though the decor and setting is very nice. I had Ham egg and chips and couldn't fault...More

Believed to date back to the 12th century, The Ostrich on the old Bath to London road, close to Heathrow Airport and Terminal 5, is said to be England's third oldest inn. It's certainly a very fine example of its kind, combining everything you'd expect in a historic coaching inn: beams, nooks, fireplaces, crooked stairs, a cobbled courtyard and an interesting (albeit macabre) history. The chunky contemporary wooden furniture and bright colours come as a bit of a surprise, and work well with the huge, sagging beams, standing timbers and open fires. A wide-ranging menu serves good, freshly prepared food and reflects the demands of the area (the M4 and M25 are very near) and the concomitant mix of people. The specials board changes daily, while a lunch menu that is always ready within 20 minutes. A hearty Sunday lunch menu is served all dy long allowing you to indulge in a proper lie in and still have time for a roast.A private function room upstairs plays host to regular comedy nights and is available for hire for functions.
