Staying in Ravenscar and ended up visiting three nights running! The number of diners in a relatively off the beaten track location was indicative of the food on offer. Steak pie to relish! Tremendous and friendly staff.

Beautiful pub. Great outside space. Dog friendly. Food delicious. Toilets beautiful and clean. The decor is great old worldy. It's a bit dark for day time eating but makes a stunning night times place. Plenty of parking. Lots of beer and wine choices. Staff great.

Staying in the area and the landlady recommended this place. Staff friendly with good service. Had homemade steak pie which was lovely served with chips and veg. There is a beer garden to the rear with a small play area and parking. Would recommend.

This friendly, relaxed place is a short diversion from the Cinder Trail, which is the former Whitby - Scarborough railway now converted into a cycle way. For us, it was just the 'pub' symbol on the OS map... we just wanted a pint but stayed...More

We visited here with some friends recently whilst staying in the area. We were warmly greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Our order was taken in good time. The food, which also arrived in good time, was hot and very plentiful. Recommended.

It was nice to see the place was busy but my meal was so disappointing. The meagre pâté was wet and completely lacked taste , it relied on the salad garnish for interest The special of seafood gratin didn’t deliver either Bland, watery and with...More

Based on the reviews we tried this country pub. Great setting, ambience was good, choice of beers was very good. We ordered the roasts (1 beef, 1 lamb). Roast potatoes were undercooked, beef and yorkshires over cooked, vegetables were good and varied. Disappointed with the...More

Sorry for the delay in replying, I have only just seen this. We found it best to book as the restaurant area is quite small and gets very busy. Dogs are made extremely welcome (even in the restaurant) and are usually given... More
