The food is always fresh, & tasty, & served in a comfortably informal, French bistro themed environment.

I had passed this place several times and wanted to try it so when we booked tickets for the theatre which is just around the corner it seemed the perfect opportunity. The restaurant is small only about 20 covers and is only open in the evening. The menu is fairly limited with around 4 or 5 choices on starter/main/sweet but... More

In another town in a bigger restaurant this chef would have a Michelin star. Salt and chill whitebait with green chilli sauce is different and needs the house dry white wine. Mussels in a very creamy wine and garlic sauce were a delight. Autumn crumble was largely fruit with a creamy custard that matches anything I have had elsewhere.

Friends took us to this lovely restaurant for a pre theatre meal. It is a delightful place to eat. Very small so you need to book but it is well worth going to. Food was excellent and great value for money. House red was a good choice to go with our beef main course. Deserts were also delicious. One not... More

The Green Room was recommended to us by the owners of The Windmill B & B. We hadn't booked a table, but they managed to fit us in. The restaurant is quite small, but was busy, with a lovely atmosphere. We ordered the three courses, I had the goats cheese starter, mussels, and sticky toffee pudding. My husband had black... More

Really delightful little place, with quirky decor, and we were glad to get a table when other places were fully booked. Unfortunately my starter (Cheddar croquette) was tepid, but the burger was beautiful. Good price for two courses, too. The only unpleasant aspect was the crashing of cutlery being thrown down when we were trying to finish our wine (and... More

For another tasty diner. Our 2nd visit in August was as good as the first. We had the early bird menu both times, the menu was similar, but all dishes appealed so it was easy to choose again. Lamb pie was tender and generous, and the fishcake was superb, the best I have had. Freshly cooked food friendly service excellent... More

A small restaurant with about 10 tables. We had the early bird £16 for 3 courses which was great value, beautifully cooked simple ingredients, very tasty. The wine list was limited, in that there was one bottle of each option, which for a table of 8 wasn't ideal, also all the non-alcoholic drinks were carbonated. The service was good. Sparsely... We had come for a weekend away from the Wirral with great expectations for our meal due to my auntie visiting the restaurant many years ago & couldn't fault it. Starter was nice tomato & chorizo sauce was really nice. My main duck arrived for it to look really nice but that wasn't the case very over done & lumpy... More

We were also in the Green Room at the same time as the previous reviewer. We didn't have a starter but we rarely do. My husband had duck and I had the vegetarian option which was a tomato and brie tart. My tart was absolutely delicious and properly cooked. Although my husband said his duck was slightly overcooked, the mash... More
