It was my first visit to this pub and it will be my last. There was only one other couple in so it was very quiet. However I was ignored by the waitress and the waiter not much better. I waited 10 minutes and no one had come over so I went to the bar only to have to wait... More

Went for a family get together, food was very slow, waitress was not paying attention to any of the orders, orders were wrong in some cases. Think Vintage Inns need to rethink as this is getting as pad as popular farm in andover

We have visited the star many times recently. We have found the staff friendly and helpful, the food we have eaten there has always been hot and tasted great, good portions and value for money. We have always received quick band friendly service. The staff there at the moment are great

We had excellent Sole and lovely desserts accompanied by great (recommended) winds and very friendly service. Definitely coming back when we're next in the area.

Well what can I say! Service was very slow, food was slow and only half the menu was available. Hunters chicken was just a plate of BBQ sauce and a chunk of pig fat & some chard chicken piece. The prawns and lobster cocktail was very small and covered in paprika , oh and had to have smoked salmon as... More

Service was very slow. we arrived at 7 and have someone take our order until 7:45 we had to go to the bar for our own drinks before then as it took so long. We finally got our plates cleared and given the pudding menu at 8:45 and served them gone 9. The food was absolutely amazing as always 😊.... More

The pub itself is a wonderful country setting to sit and relax but is let down somewhat by the food quality which seems to have declined gradually. I have been here about 7 times over the past 3 years and more recently there has been something wrong with meals and service as well and I will now be finding a... More

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch over the bank holiday weekend. When we arrived, we weren't sure whether we needed to find a table or wait- I saw a waitress walk past but she did not acknowledge me, in fact I smiled and she looked miserable and carried on walking! When we were seated, unfortunately we were placed... More

I love the location of this pub, and the decoration is lovely but the good was disappointing and average. We have been many times before and it seems to be slowly going downhill. The chicken pie was 90% pastry, the filling inside was so little, less than half a chicken breast in it. The steak was fatty. We were really... More

Hi there thank you for the detailed review and valuable feedback. We are changing our chicken pie recipe very soon which will make for a much nicer pie, similar to what we have done to improve the steak pie. Any feedback on the quality do steaks is valuable as we feed them all back to the supplier. As for the... More
