We visited The Halfway for the second time. After very good first impressions, this time was the confirmation of all good things to say about this place. Not cheap, true. But you get what you're paying for. Service can not be faulted, staff very friendly, food well cooked and presented, portions are very generous, nice wine selection and all of... More

This is a really interesting pub with a lot of character, quirky-but-comfortable seating/tables and decor, friendly and attentive staff, great food (the fish & chips I had was superb; tasty, piping hot and very satisfying), pleasant wash rooms, easy access from the road and a decent car park. A genuinely nice place to while away a long relaxing lunch with... More

The atmosphere here is lovely. The outdoor area is awesome and the food is delicious.... It's a bit pricey but you do get rather big portions! Definitely worth a visit! :)

I called in without booking as a lone diner on business . Lovely warm open fire and attentive staff . I managed to bag the only table left so would recommend booking . The food was well presented with very generous portions . The tempura chicken starter could have fed 2 people if it had been served with a salad... More

Joined some friends for Sunday lunch and we found the staff were most attentive. The food was good and varied for a Sunday menu. We shared the baked Camembert to start and then I had the lamb and my partner had steak. The plate was plentiful, and we were unable to finish the dish. Having the pianist in the corner... More

The pub itself is warm and inviting, beautifully decorated with lots of candles and rustic decor. The menu was extensive with a good mix of cuisines and flavours. The food portions are humongous and beautifully presented. We had a very nice meal between the four of us. The reason I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5 is because: a. My... More

We popped in for a pint a while ago and were impressed by the menu so we came back for a meal and weren't disappointed - mostly. The decor, staff and service are all excellent. I had an Indian inspired monk fish starter that was delicious. My wife had the goats cheese savoury doughnut and was also very impressed. The... More

Lovely ambience, lovely food, great service too. The only down side was that our seating was so soft and low that it wasn't great for eating - we were sat next to the piano. The other thing to mention is that you cannot add a tip via the machine so unless you take some cash the staff don't get tipped!!
