Poor service, scruffy pub garden, dirty tables, unwelcoming staff made us wonder if anyone cared ? Clearly not because a few months later the placed closed down, good.

Just back from Sunday lunch at the Lord Lyon today, we went on the strength of the reviews but looking again they are a few months old. The menu was quite limited (only 2 starters and 2 puddings plus cheese), but I suppose that is the case in some places on a Sunday. We decided to order the roast my... More

We just had an amazing roast dinner here. We could tell, from the quality & taste of the food, that everything was made from scratch with fresh ingredients, from the roast potatoes down to the horseradish sauce. And the current chef very obviously knows how to cook to a high standard.

Stopped here for Sunday lunch. Super friendly staff, dog friendly and a nice choice on menu. Food is on the cheap side and quality reflects this, it's pub grub rather than posh nosh but we enjoyed our visit nonetheless. The homemade cakes and flapjacks were divine and I would stop again for coffee and a cake.

The new management have done a great job with the pub in the last few months. Jason and Sophie were very welcoming and friendly when we popped in for a meal. We shared a bread and olives starter then I had Cajun chicken while my wife had the slow cooked beef brisket chilli. Both meals were excellent which we washed... More

Lovely pub. Friendly staff and good food. Had Thai chicken curry, £9.95 and it was a good portion. My friend had the Cajun chicken breast with corn fritter, sweet potato chips and red cabbage salad £12.95. It's the second time we've eaten there. We will be going again.

Quite often pop in here as we are local. Its definitely improved since Jason took over a couple of months ago. Children and dogs are welcome too (which is a bonus for us!!). Have eaten here a few times recently and have not been disappointed. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. Had lunch there yesterday with a friend, our... More

Lord Lyon is under new management. We popped in this pub yesterday for lunch and I must say I was very impressed. The atmosphere was so welcoming and the manager was very friendly and nice. The food they served us was just delicious. I am sure we will be going back again. I definitely recommend!

This was taken over last year and the new family running it are really lovely, they're so friendly and accommodating and chat with customers as though they're friends so this is a great local pub for a relaxed, friendly drink. My friend held her birthday do here with finger food which was inventive and really tasty, the food was much... More
