Went to Hay on Wye with friends to have a look around, left the men in Kiilverts while we shopped. Both of them said that the selection of beers was very good and when we joined them for coffee, good served with small biscuit. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff.

Arrived at Hay on Wye and whilst familiarising ourselves with our surroundings we stumbled across Kilverts. Vegetable lasagne was highly praised with compliments going to the chef from 2 of our guests. Steak cooked to perfection and again very tasty. Fish & Chips were fantastic and they don't skimp on the size of the fish. Lovely place and glad we... More

We visited Hay on wye for Christmas and this became or welcoming local for our trip. They opened on Christmas and boxing day and it was a nice non touristy experience with friendly family run vibe. Dogs are welcome too which was a perk for us, thanks!

Curt and rather abrasive service from someone I believe was the owner or manager. Dirty wine glasses were replaced but since the same wine was poured into replacement glasses rather than refreshed, it still felt a bit unhygienic and unappetising.

Lovely pub in the centre of Hay. Friendly staff and good food. We ate here a couple of times during our stay in town.

Cracking proper pub, had the rugby on, quite busy and we sat there for about 5 hours and thoroughly enjoyed the place. I had scampi which was a very generous portion and my wife had the steak and ale pie, which again wasn't small, and she said was very good.

Hay is full of over-priced pubs and restaurants; this is the one to go to for excellent value imaginative home-cooked food, great atmosphere, and spot on beer and wine. Called in here on a cold November day; warm and cosy with plenty of buzz. Interesting lunch menu with plenty of veggie options. We had the chilli (1 each of the... More

We were warmly welcomed by the staff and allowed to move seating for our party of 8. It's a lovely old style pub with real ales and traditional menu. We had the fish & chips, delicious and huge portions. There's a warm lounge with a fire for relaxed dining. The staff were very courteous and polite. Reasonably priced. Would definately... More
