Our party of six stopped in for lunch. Lovely tavern with old wood with lots of history. I had the fish and chips which were great and my husband had the classic Reine Deer burger which he loved. Beer from the bar topped off the...More

Ancient, lovely wood-panelled room, Friendly service and very good food. I had a rib-eye steak and my wife had the reindeer burger and we shared a sticky toffee pudding. All very nice. We were a group of six and we were all happy with our...More

We sat in the pub area for dinner. Good plentiful food, great service. I'd go again. I'm not accustomed to curry's but the one I had was delicious.

I took a friend of mine to see the Ye Olde Reindeer in Banbury because it's really well preserved with exposed timbers and paneling however, when told it was £8.20 for two pints to say he was gob smacked would be an understatement. Luckily for...More

We've eaten there on 3 occasions now. Usually for the steak night special, which is very good value and very nice, though there are lots to choose from off the menu too. Their soup of the day is also very nice! The desserts are beautifully...More

We held our wedding reception in the amazing Globe Room, a room seeped in history and which has an amazing atmosphere. The wedding breakfast was outstanding and the service from the staff incredible. Thank you for making our special day even more special!

Since my last review I have observed that wine by the glass has become overpriced and food portions are a little smaller. Quality of food remains good but the menu is more limited. Somewhat disappointing.

Went for a meal, very dog friendly. Good food, good value. Great 60's music in the background, not too loud, just right. Will visit again.

Enjoy real ales and fine food in an historic setting. Hooknorton beer, what's not to like. In winter with a log fire it's a true haven. Step back in time and take a break from the hustle and bustle. You will not be disappointed.

Description
Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn is the oldest public house in Banbury. Situated halfway down Parsons Street, in the town centre no visit to Banbury is complete without a visit to Ye Olde Reine Deer. A Hook Norton Brewery pub ensures the offering of mainstay Hooky beers and a seasonal guest, its even the breweries 'flagship' pub. The pub itself is over 400 years old and steeped in history and local folk law. The Globe room a hidden gem to the rear of the property used to be a common room for travelling gentry and is still clad in the original oak panelling, an incredible find and talking point. We serve food 12pm-3pm, 6pm-9pm Monday-Saturday and 2pm-3pm on Sunday. Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn has always had an impeccable reputation for great pub food and extremely well kept ale. We always aim to meet and exceed these very high standards.
