I've eaten at The Whitchurch Inn before on several occasions some time ago and been unimpressed so felt it was about time I gave it another chance, wish I hadn't. My tasteless cod arrived top side down and when flipped revealed an extremely soggy batter most of which I had to remove. The accompanying chips were ok though unremarkable. It... More

It is a lovely pub, but can be difficult to park - it is always busy as it isnt very big. Fine for meat eaters, dont find it brilliant for vegetarians personally, not alot of choice. You really need to book if you want a table, fine if you just arrive ad hoc but prepared to be disappointed. Staff dont... More

Due to the floor in our kitchen not being level, or so they said we had to go out to lunch whilst the levelling compound set. Well you have to don't you? So we went to the Whitchurch Inn and enjoyed a lovely lunch by the fire. Have not been to this pub in a while and it was a... More

We visited for the first time last night. We really liked the inside of the pub, very clean and welcoming. The gent behind the bar was really very pleasant. We sat at our table after ordering drinks at the bar and waited, and waited some more. 30 mins goes by along with the non smiling waitress numerous times and we... More

When your driving at night in the dark this place really feels like a hidden gem. Drove straight past it initially. Wonderful little pub with amazing food. Delicious well cooked food and able to provide gluten free options. Great ales on tap and to top it off even though completely stuffed from tasty mains had to sample deserts..... Wow is... More

Booked a table for weekday lunch. Place not busy but locals in and out. My smaller portion fillet steak, 2 eggs & no chips was grand, as were the two cod & chips. Only two of us had desserts, and a bit disappointing that warm bakewell tart wasn't, and the "with raspberries" was reduced to the singular. Otherwise fine service... More

Nice small local pub, dogs are welcome. Most dishes are offered in two portion sizes which I thought was helpful. Slightly above average pricing but well worth it 👍

I visited with friends earlier this week. Between us we had the chilli salmon, the burger and chicken fajitas. We all agreed that the food was excellent. Looks to be very popular with locals for both dining and at the bar. A good range of local and regional ales and lagers. Worth a visit.

We had the steak special which was absolutely lovely one of the best steaks we have ever had . However spoilt By the pub being full of dogs and one especially completely out of control and barking. . The pub is not that large and spoilt the evening for us. We have a dog of our own so we are... More

I was with friends returning to their home after a bracing walk on Dartmoor. We hadn't passed a pub in miles when we saw a sign for the Whitchurch Inn and turned off the main road into the village. I'm glad we did because this pub is a little gem. It was busy but not too full, the barmaid was... More
