Great views whether you sit inside or out. Nice varied menu to suit all tastes. Good pub food. Would visit again when in the area

First beer stop on my Salcombe trip. Situated in a really nice setting, the Ferry Inn is right next to the sea, by the ferry crossing (hence the name). Drink prices are very reasonable and from what I could see the food looked perfectly edible.

Food choice good; quality OK. Has a choice of sitting in the bar on one level or in the restaurant at a lower level but both offer beautiful views of the estuary. Friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend a visit.

Had lunch here which was very nice. Thai Crab cakes and deep fried prawns followed by home made burger and chips, my friends had lasagne and a vegetarian pie. All of which was adequate. The service, ambience and location make this a super place to...More

Having spent many merry nights in the Ferry inn, I was shocked to discover a new, more exclusive management style, to a once charming and vibrant sea-side pub. Although I sustain faith in the ferry Inn, I grieve for its owners for having to put...More

This pub has been the same for over 50years. Crab sandwiches still on the menu. Outside area with a fabulous view down the estuary. Lovely to go back.

Called in for a sandwich and a pint of cider. Excellent crab sandwich and a pint of well kept hand pulled draft Dorset cider. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I will be back.

Popped in for a quick drink before a pre-booked supper down town . Lovely warm welcome. Soft music, amazing view, inviting woodburner. Didn't want to leave. Such a nice atmosphere. Will be back. Food looked lovely. Such a difference.

At the top of the steps to the ferry, traditional pub with great views and a big garden overlooking the estuary. Very dog friendly with biscuits, so an immediate hit with our four-legged friend. Good selection of beers. Menu includes "specials". We had excellent crab...More

How long ago was it that you stopped selling 'scrumpy' in the garden overlooking the river?

Response from John I |
Does that mean you are now selling it again as I understood that many years ago it was stopped at the request of the river authorities due to sailing accidents by inebriated sailors!

Good pub grub, wholesome and reasonably priced. Great and friendly service, dog friendly, live sports in bar area and terrace to enjoy the sun. Front row seat for local regatta and firework display (book early). Amazing views from all areas and restaurant area available for booking. Live music and special events throughout the year (pig racing is a must see). The team at the Ferry Inn look forward to your visit
