Popped in for a morning coffee, and sat by a lovely log fire. Saw the menu and decided to eat there that evening. Had the delicious steak and ale and fish pies. Generous portions and could not manage puds! came again the next evening and enjoyed the duck salad and chicken madras. very tasty. Thank you.

My partner and I were staying locally for 2 nights and decided to eat here on our last night. Good choice of food and some 'specials' to choose from. Prices were reasonable. I wasn't very hungry so just had mains of cottage pie, my partner had the same and whitebait to start - which was a huge portion so I... More

Stayed locally and visited one evening for dinner. Good choice on the menu. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable on drinks and meals served. Ordered Whitebait to start, which was a huge portion with fresh tasty salad. My partner and I both had Cottage Pie, which was lovely, as were the crisp vegetables it came with. A very happy diner.

We stopped here for a late lunch after visiting the butterfly zoo across the road and before heading home after a 2 day break to the local area. Sometimes less is more and there was almost a bit too much choice on the menu which to me says they don't specialise in anything. We both went for pasta options, my... More

I visited the old courthouse with family over the weekend for dinner arriving about 2pm. The venue is absolutely stunning, The menu looked good ( although the number of options offered always rings alarm bells !! ) and it stated all food is freshly made to order - so expect a wait. My kind of eatery then ... Uuum !... More

We only stopped in here for a couple of pints while we were staying in Whitchurch, the bar was traditionally cosy and a great place to stop for a drink, but the home made nachos were worthy of a review on their own. Amazing crumbly flaky delicious hand made tortilla chips and perfectly generous and proportioned toppings, we almost considered... More

Were driving around the area and stumbled across this place just as it was time for lunch, so we tried it out, looked very busy and they found us a table, to say it was a nice meal, no complaints, but the offers of 2 courses and 3 courses were very confusing, the method of ordering was difficult and the...
