We have eaten here a few times now and have never been disappointed. Everything about this village pub/restaurant is superb. From the very warm welcome to the atmosphere to the quality of the food. A number of our party had the steaks and were all raving about them. They were 10 of us in our party and everyone said how... More

This is one of the best restaurant meals I have had. The wild mushrooms where quite special. The lamb was succulent. Would recommend it.

This was our third visit in 6 months and this time I was compelled to write a review. On all three occasions we have had superb experiences of friendly welcomes, excellent food choices and high quality cuisine. We have noticed there is always a good selection of fish and vegetarian dishes which is important to us. The owner Svenia is... More

Found very good reviews for this restaurant and had excellent personal recommendations. Had a very good meal there in traditional surroundings of an old English pub. Thoroughly recommended !

Exceptionally good food and lots of local foods used --- beef, lamb, asparagus to name a few. Also reasonable prices with lots of wines below £20 per bottle. Everything from classy burgers (to suit the teenagers) to perfectly cooked lamb, pork belly and whole lemon sole. Lots to choose from. Highlight was pink lamb cutlets with slow-cooked shoulder.

Having read some of the previous reviews I felt I had to write one . My friends and I dine regularly around the county and this is one of the finest if not the best restaurant you will find. Last time was two days ago. We were 8 people including 2 hotel owners we all ordered differently and were served... More

We had a meal here after a recconmedation. Well it was OK but my choice of vegatarian food was a bit of a dissapointment. The reason I did not really like any of the options so I suppose that's my fault. Any way the meals overall were adequate. I know it won't be for everyone as I know some people... More

As I have said repeatedly we are not for everyone........ that is why there is so much choice in the area - there's enough for everyone to choose from. We are not expensive for the quality of food we serve. What does really irritate me is people putting their own twist about us apparently not wanting to make money. Of... More

A cosy, traditional country pub with log fires and beamed ceilings set in beautiful countryside. The menu is large and varied, for meat-eaters at least - if I have a gripe, it is that they really could offer more than one vegetarian dish and a veggie soup. The food is delicious, though, of very high quality, (the puddings are scrumptious)... More
