Very disappointed. Won't return. Cold and uninviting a felt grubby. Just an odd sort of place and we couldn't wait to get out. Food disappointing.

During our latest Broads boating holiday, we were there last Saturday (22nd October) on an overnight mooring in Thurne Dyke. As with many Broadland pubs, they don't start cooking until 6pm so we had to wait a little to get fed. When the food arrived, it was acceptable but maybe a little expensive given that this pub is a 'little... More

Visited for evening meal after mooring up for the first time at Thurne Dyke. The food - burger and lamb stew were good and service was quick and friendly. The real ale choice was also good and a good selection of soft drinks and spirits. The place itself looks tired and a bit run down - the toilets are particularly... More

Always visit here on annual boating holiday. Yes place is tired and could do with a freshen up but always a good welcome and friendly visit. Food average. Burger not as described but told them and were immediately reimbursed so no complaints. Curry lovely. Quaint place that certainly deserves a visit whilst in area.

Went on recommendation (can only assume friend of owner). If you want an example of what happens to a venue when no maintenance is done for a fair few years...come on in to this dirty smelly worn out shed. Will start by saying beer selection is not terrible and barman welcoming. Food was poor and aimed at those with limited... More

We moored up at the Red House Farm in Thurne for overnight moorings as it is close to the boatyard in Potter Heigham. The food and service were terrible. Although not at all busy, it took an hour for our starters to come out. The soup was luke warm and the baked Camembert overdone (completely liquidised) and the accompanying bread... More

gave it a second chance, could do with a little investment. Food was okay to be fair, service not great and weren't particular busy. Shame great location could be a gem?

Was on a lovely boating holiday on the Broads. Stopped at Thurne for the night. The only pub in the lovely village is The Lion Inn. I have never seen such an awful place. The whole place needs gutting!! The toilets where indescribable and the showers looked like a concentration camp. As for the landlord he was so rude and... More

The welcome we received was much to be desired. Although we were standing at the bar to be served it was obvious that locals took priority. The restaurant was cramped with no air or ventilation and the landlord was very rude not only to us but to a couple who sat in the restaurant with their well behaved dog, he... More
