This place was highly recommended and did not disappoint. Due to nothing much being open in the evenings in nearby Grange-over-Sands, we were glad to find such a lovely pub restaurant. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a good choice of food, vegetarians and vegans catered for. Prices were reasonable and the general ambiance was very pelasant. I... More

We went to the Pheasant on Thursday evening, although we pass it every day on the way to work, we haven't been there for years but it was very, very good indeed. We have just booked for Mothers Day. The seafood platter was excellent as was the service - well done!!

Pub grub at its finest. Delicious food and highly accommodating with very friendly and attentive staff. We had a wonderful 3 course meal, a bottle of presecco, 2 fantastic real ales, all for £73. Highly recommend the mushroom pepper pot to start with the lamb shoulder for main and of course the Cartmel sticky toffee pudding to finish it off!

Called for lunch before going on a walk around Allithwaite. Both had the steak and ale pie, chips and mushy peas...absolutely delicious!

This is one of our favourite Lakeland pubs. The beer, particularly the Loweswater Gold, is well kept, the service is very friendly and efficient, and the food is good pub grub. They also do smaller portions which I really appreciate. They welcome our dogs and the place is always buzzing. It never disappoints. Well worth visiting.

We'd read good reviews of the pub. Although building work is going on outside, luckily the pub was open for our lunchtime visit. Such friendly service & great food.

Very pleasant meal with my family. Good quality food, presented well and reasonably priced. The Bloody Mary soup was a bit weird, and wouldn't order it again but I'm sure it would appeal to some. Will return when in the area.

The Pheasant deserves all the good reviews. We chose to dine here because we were staying close by and reviews were good. We were not disappointed, good honest food made with fresh ingredients. Staff are really friendly and the place is full of chatter and has a good feel about it. Would eat there again if we were close by.
