Had the best cream tea here ever. Scones not doughy or heavy. Warm too. Some cakes are better than others but all very good or excellent. Range of teas superb especially green tea. If you can get the lemon roulade superb too

We had just arrived in Fowey after a long and difficult journey. We were hungry but if was 4pm and a lot of the restaurants were closed for the winter. We stumbled across The Dwelling House and decided to try their afternoon tea. Well, I am so pleased that we did! We had tea for two at £17.50 per head... More

I had not visited The Dwelling House in a long time but decided on a whim to pop in for lunch. I arrived tired and grumpy, I left less tired and with a smile on my face. It's a lovely tea room, clean and comfortable with friendly/relaxed service. I opted for a savoury tea (cheese scones warmed on the rayburn... More

We came across The Dwelling House by chance and what an absolutely delightful tea room. Myself and my husband shared an afternoon tea and it was simply delicious. Would highly recommend.

Loved the surroundings of this delightful tea house. Such history. Very pleasant helpful staff. We had a crab sandwich and a cream tea between us. Both equally tasty. Teas were tasty too, served in a proper tea pot. Would have been nice to hear some classical or slow music to make the experience even more relaxing. Well done everyone, coped... More

We have always enjoyed The Dwelling House when in Fowey. Today we popped in for a pot of tea but I could not resist the crab sandwiches and my partner the cheese scone which was served with homemade Cornish Plum jam. I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of crab sandwiches and these were the best. I do find... More

Visited here on a cold February afternoon just as they were closing and bringing in the sign boards from outside. We asked if we were too late but they said 'No - come in ' Made to feel very welcome and enjoyed tea and homemade scones. 3 choices of gluten free cakes were also offered. Absolutely no pressure to leave... More

A friendly little place. Didn't eat as we just needed a cup of something, but the cakes looked very good. It's not very often that you can find oolong tea especially served in proper Chinese Zisha tea pots but here you can and very nice it was too. The staff were friendly and efficient and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit... More

I usually enjoy tea and scones in the garden when I visit this tremendous little cafe. However, on a chilly November morning my friend and I ordered piping hot coffee and bacon sandwiches. The bread was thickly cut and home-made and the sandwiches were jam packed with rashers of tasty bacon. Delicious! The ambiance was warm and friendly as ever... More
