Seeing the well positioned sunny terrace from the harbour we arrived at 4.30 pm and loved the setting. Waiter proffered menus and we ordered tea and scones and a request that bird poo was wiped from the table. The request for scones was met with hesitancy. Tea arrived 10 minutes later, no cloth for the bird poo and no scones.... More

Excellent fish and nice touches from the chef in between meals with some free tasters. Low ceilings so not airy but great view across the Fowey River.

Lovely place with a fantastic view from outside and French window seating with attentive but unobtrusive service. Risotto was very good and Dad said the steak was too and wasn't sharing. Fish and chips were tasty but not spectacular for the price although we would happily go back.

Booked a table on our arrival in Fowey, The dinning room was pleasant and the only member of staff we saw was friendly with a sense of humour. The food was good although not huge portions.

Me and my husband have been to Fowey before, and arranged a few nights away to recharge our batteries. We decided to try a different hotel, given the location of the Old Quay House we thought that this looked like a perfect location for our second visit. We were not disappointed, the location of the hotel is AMAZING and the... More

Went for my birthday during mine and my husbands visit to Cornwall. We made the special trip out to Fowey for the meal and so glad we did. It may have been a tad quiet, but you can't expect much else on a Tuesday evening in a wet and windy February. Every course tasted amazing, I scraped my plate clean... More

Very nice Valentine's Dinner, all food beautifully presented, exceptionally delicious, if a little mean portion wise! So good I could have eaten more!

Although the restaurant was fairly quiet last night my meal was excellent. The mussels are delicious and every dish was cooked and presented well. Waiting staff were very helpful and attentive. Top marks.

Description
A Relaxed Waterfront Restaurant. The bright restaurant leads out onto a spacious terrace where on a sunny day you can enjoy afternoon tea (the Cornish way of course, jam first!), A pre-dinner glass of fizz, or a long and lazy lunch. It's a great spot to watch life on the estuary unfold, from boats of all shapes and sizes to the local wildlife which includes resident swans and the occasional dolphin.Fowey River oysters, local scallops, West Country meat and Cornish cheeses... Hungry yet? 'Q' restaurant at The Old Quay House offers excellent dining in a relaxed, unstuffy setting. Forget unsmiling waiters, small portions and whispered conversations, dining here is all about fun and enjoyment - quality local and season produce features heavily on head chef Ben Bass'menu of creative, contemporary dishes. Our wine list, hand-picked by Britain's youngest Master of Wine, is pretty good too...
