Visited the new "modern" Chateau carvery that has replaced the old Jasons carvery and so wish we hadn't visited to celebrate a family xmas meal. Completely changed with no atmosphere at all, poor service and no attention to detail. Food very average set menu £20 or £25 per head you can get better at many local pubs or restaurants nearby.... The carvery has gone and been replaced by a temporary restaurant in a soulless room with friendly but ineffective staff. The room was cold and it took over two hours for three courses to be served. The food was passable but not worth the premium prices. The service was slow, amateurish and the room was lacking atmosphere due to a... More

The restaurant is housed in a windowless basement. The food was bland and tasteless - but edible. The staff were attentive and efficient.

we have eaten at Jasons at different times of year but always at christmas for the last 16 years, their xmas fayre menu is superb value for money considering the quality of the meats and vegetables, the food is freshly prepared, the soups and starters are tasty, the main carvery is always succulent and the chef will keep piling the... Have eaten in Jason's Carvery for special occassions for the last 10 years and have never been disappointed. Staff are very attentive, food is excellent and it is superb value for money. If there are 4 or less of you dining ask for a table in an alcove.
