Lovely pub, a bit pricey and book ahead of you want to eat at busy times. Wonderful garden at the back with a small play area for children, dog friendly inside and out.

Came here for what was a cracking Sunday lunch twinned with great service and a totally reasonable bill. The size of our party (11 in total), was well catered for and there was a cracking beer garden outside with playground for the kids. All in all, very impressed. It's also perfectly situated if you're staying at the Forest of Dean... More

A dog friendly pub with superb beer, a good selection of wine and plates of food for the very hungry family. Eaten once and just heading off again for dinner. Highly recommended

While on holiday at a local site we enjoyed two meals here. Both meals were lovely and the staff extremely friendly. The fact is dog friendly was a massive bonus for us as we were able to take our dog with us rather than leaving her behind and rushing our meal to get back to her.

Went for Sunday lunch after ringing ahead to make sure they could accommodate us. The pub was packed when we arrived and we were told we would have to wait a while for food. After a 30 minute wait we eventually got a menu and then after a further 20 mins our order was taken. It took an hour and... More

As this was the closest pub to the cottage we were staying in, we popped in for lunch one day. The pub is dog friendly and very welcoming. The portions are massive, even hubby left some!!! It's probably not somewhere in would go for a special meal, but it definitely fills a gap and a big one at that.

We are staying at Forest Holidays and found this to be the closest pub for food as only a 10 minute walk away it was perfectly located. When we first entered the pub it felt very old world and quite local and we were concerned about where we would be sitting to eat. We went to the bar ordered drinks... More
