A delicious three course lunch beautifully served by the students to over 60 members of Monmouth U3A. The three courses were followed by mince pies and coffee, and all agreed the meal was very good value for money.

11 fine dined at the Beechwood this evening, very pleasant experience with most attentive but not intrusive students learning their craft with visible enthusiasm! The Gravlax starter was very good and the Turkey main excellent. Sweets were nicely presented, followed by mince pies and coffee. Well done Coleford Catering college.

Beechwood is run by the FOD College, with the students being taught all aspects of the catering industry, yes, sometimes the service can have blips, as is always the case when people are being taught and trained, however, having said that the food is always beautifully cooked and presented. These trainee chefs really do have potential to go a long... More

As always we were greeted and welcomed by the smiling faces of Sam Watkins' students. They are definitely on track to go the distance. The service was great, the food was excellent. The restaurant is always decorated to compliment the theme of the night. The students, under Sam Watkins guidance go out of their way to make the themed evenings... More

The Beechwood Restaurant puts on various themed nights during the year, my last review was on the excellent Burns Night in January. Since then we have enjoyed two more themed evenings, the French Night on the 13th April and the Indian Night, last night 27th April. Both evenings were excellent but the Indian evening was of interest to us as... More

It was my wifes birthday, so hearing how great the food and service is at the Beechwood I made a booking with Sam. I could go on and on about how fabulous the experience was, but I have not got the time. To round it off in one sentence, the food, service and ambience was of a quality restaurant and... More

Visited here on the 23rd March with my wife and in laws. It must be my 6th or 7th visit and once again it was fantastic. From the food to the service was top notch. It's no surprise that we had to book a few months in advance. I don't often comment on desserts as I have more of a... More
