Been there couple days ago. Mussels and homemade winter Berry's crumble are just amazing. Great choices for reasonable prices. Nice wine menu to choose from. Helpful staff and friendly managers. Simply beautiful place. Very cosy Christmas décor. Looking forward for Christmas party in there!

I had booked the theatre and the restaurant I had booked let us down so my Mother and I asked for a table at the ship inn. Interior is warm and inviting but that's where it ends. The menu is limited and expensive. They don't cater for celiac's or vegans. So I ordered home made soup for me and a... More

This evening I visited The Ship Inn. I must say I was highly impressed by the extremely high standards of food. The chef working this evening explained perfectly how the duck was prepared and served. The presentation was phenomenal. I would highly recommend an evening here with friends or family. Overall my experience at The Ship Inn has been wonderful.... More

This our first visit to the Ship Inn & I'm sure it won't be our last. We booked an early table as we were going to see a film at the Regent Centre just across the road. Our table was ready for us & although I explained we were going to the theatre, we were left a long time with... More

My wife and I booked a table for an early evening meal at 6pm before "One Night with Elvis" performed by Lee "Memphis" King and his band at The Regent. Our table was ready on our arrival and we had a pre-dinner drink whilst we studied the extensive menu. I chose the wild mushroom soup and traditional beer battered atlantic... More

Great ambience, lovely music at the perfect volume. We went for lunch and I had the best moules/frites ever - absolutely delicious. My husband also said the fish and chips were excellent and really enjoyed the pickled egg (he hadn't had one for years!). The staff were professional and friendly and made a point of asking of everything was OK.... More

We ate here on Bonfire night and had a fantastic evening - the food was delicious, the service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere welcoming. I would definitely recommend The Ship as a place to eat a really good meal at reasonable prices. Will return when we are next in the area - top marks!!!

The Ship is a lovely pub, got a good 'feel' about it but so expensive- was in London a couple of weeks ago and it was cheaper! We had a large white wine and a vodka with a splash of pineapple and was charged £14.20! I did question it and was told I had been charged for a mixer rather... More

The pub has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, helped by the excellent soundtrack in the background (BBC live lounge-esque). We had the mackerel plate to share, which was a mistake as we should have ordered one each! It was delicious. I had the sea bass fillets special which was just perfectly cooked, crispy skin to die for. The husband had a... More

We visited The Ship for a family lunch whilst shopping in Christchurch. It has a welcoming look and is a nice oldie worldy pub that has a nice relaxed atmosphere. We opted for a light snack which was far from light! The portions are huge and the food was lovely and fresh and homemade. We had the fish finger baguette... More
