Great traditional Scottish Country pub with open fire in beautiful surroundings. They go the extra mile to make it enjoyable, loved getting a small square of chocolate covered icecream with my coffee!!! Delicious 😋 We will definitely be back to try the food next time.

We often stop here for lunch. Its a cosy inn with a warm welcome. The bothy duo is a favourite as the soup is always lovely. The evening meals are also hearty and tasty. Staff are so friendy and attentive

It was Sunday night at 7.30. Service was efficient and the meal was pleasant enough. However, although it was very cold outside the log-burning stove wasn’t on - perhaps because after 10 minutes we were the only customers. It was chilly inside too. The feeling...that the staff were eager to close for the night was inescapable. I expect that if we’d timed our visit at lunchtime the experience might well have been better.More

I am very sorry you felt let down by your experience. In January most businesses are closed and we stay open however as you saw when you were in it is very quiet in the evening during Winter months. Unfortunately this is normal and there...More

We booked here last minute for some food and drinks and we couldn’t fault the place. The food was lovely and the portion size was huge. The staff are very attentive and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. It’s a little out the way...from the town centre but only cost £6 to get there. After dinner we went and sat in the bar next to the open fire which was nice and cosy.More

Popped into The Lade yesterday as we always tend to visit when staying in Strathyre. Intended to sit in the snug / bar for a few drinks while the pup snoozed by the fire, but ended up ordering the Bothy Duo x2; mushroom soup was...absolutely delicious and the filled baguettes were very tasty. I also had a festive gingerbread latte, which came with a homemade chocolate truffle which was absolutely gorgeous - I'd thoroughly recommend trying them if you can. The staff are always lovely and they always tend to give the dog some love and affection. The choice of ales and whiskies are excellent. Can't wait to visit again.More

We popped in here for a wee drink mid way through our walk. What a great stop !!!!!. Traditional 'old man's ' Scottish pub feel with the open fire burning away, traditional Scottish music in the background and a good selection of Scottish ale's. Staff...were amazing, welcoming and friendly. Thank you xMore

Lovely, snug little bar area kept warm by a lovely fire which the wonderful staff kept restocking. Wish we had visited earlier, not on our last afternoon. Nice end to the week anyway - thank you.

Worst Pint ever! Couldn’t drink it! Used to visit this pub and also buy beer from the shop years ago when we lived nearby and it was fantastic. Sadly no longer. My husband had a pint of Waylade which was very cloudy and apparently tasted...pretty awful. He complained to the waitress who said to the barman and relayed back that it was always cloudy! He couldn’t drink it! We waited ages for food as did the other customers despite it being quiet and then my husband’s prawn baguette was less appetising than one from Greggs and had no garnish, salad or finesse. The waitress did try to help with gluten information and options and I settled for a burger with a GF bun but it came as exactly that - no butter, no sauce, no garnish. I declined the offer of boiled potatoes instead of chips and asked for a small cup of soup instead which she obligingly got after some deliberation ( hence the one star). When I went to pay I took the beer and explained that my husband found it undrinkable and the barman just shrugged and presented me with the card machine!!! If we hadn’t walked from Callander, we would have left after the drinks and I wish we had and just remembered how great it used to be! I almost never leave bad reviews and we had great meals out while in Callander fir 9 days but sadly not here and will never return or recommend this place as we had done previously.More

Fine off road establishment. The Haggis was excellent, others had a wide range of meals. GF options were available. Service was good, drink merry. The inside was everything imaginged in an old stagecoach inn.

A lovely welcome, post a great, but very damp walk with our dog on the (old disused - now a walkway Callendar- Oban railway line.) Good clean loos. Restaurant was warm and comfortable. Seating (comfortable too) and service was very prompt. Food piping hot. It's...not the Ritz, ( and if that is your bag - turn right at the road end, and head south for 434 miles.) But it's a good country pub- restaurant, with friendly staff and decent food. We've been regulars since lockdown eased and have never had any negative service or experience. Highly recommended!More

Very sparse menu and strange host - spoke very loudly and quickly. There were three of us, two had starters as our mains were the Steak Pie which would take 20 minutes to cook and diners were advised on the menu to order starters while...they waited. The Prawn Cocktails were over £9 each and were very poor - tiny prawns with rubbery texture and the “Marie rose” sauce was weirdly watery. The Steak pie was only average and priced at £16.50 with a few frozen chips and some vegetables. A very small draught (or possibly poured from a bigger bottle) lemonade cost a ridiculous £2.25. The place itself was dirty with flies both living and dead. We went there as the reviews appeared favourable - I have no idea why…More

In the bar area but plenty of seats to enjoy a bar meal. The pub is on a walk anyway. Hope this is helpful.
