We were a party of 8 adults who popped in for a spot of lunch. Our coach driver recommended the cafe and when we saw him eating there we were convinced, Most of us had the haggis and steak pie with gravy and chips and they were fantastic - it was not a surprise that the owner had won prizes... Came here with friends and thought I would try one of their award winning pies. Absolutely fabulous steak pie and succulent gravy. Can easily understand why it has been lauded so much. Puts the more publicised Killie pie into the lower leagues. Really nice atmosphere in the place with comfortable seating and nice music at a volume that allows you... More

It was several years since I last visited the Taste of the Trossachs, I found that it had been refurbished and extended. The decor was pleasant without being ostentatious. The service was prompt and my order was taken quickly and executed in good time. My Bacon and Brie Panini was excellent and served with crisps and a good salad. I... More

We called in at Callander on the way to Perthshire, but were early and most places were closed. The Taste of the Trossachs looked open, so we went in for breakfast. Although the chef wasn't ready, the waitress was happy for us to sit and have a coffee. I had French toast and bacon and my wife had poached eggs... More

Dropped in here at 10.30 and was given the breakfast menu. It was Thursday and the cafe was empty so we didn't know what to expect. What we got was efficient, friendly service and the most original breakfast outside of "fine dining". My wife had the Wee Scottish Breakfast - fried egg, excellent bacon, generous-sized, lovely lorne sausage, beans and... More

Family visit for lunch. Food was very reasonable. My dad has raved about how tasty the pies are here before so he wanted to go here for lunch. Was a busy lunch time when we got there but staff were extremely slow. We sat at a dirty table for 20 minutes before the table was cleared and cleaned and we... More

Stopped here for afternoon tea and cakes, but had a delicious pie also. I can understand why this café has won awards for pies, it should win awards for the millionaires shortbread also. The staff are cheerful, helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu. Tea and hot chocolate were equally as good. I think that it is one of the... More
