My partner and I recently enjoyed an excellent meal here. We ordered a chicken dish with cheddar and ale sauce and a broccoli, leek and stilton tart from the specials menu. Both were delicious! The pub is incredibly cosy and perfect for warming up on...More

Arrived at 2pm without notice and cautiously asked if we were too late for lunch. No problem, welcomed by the landlord and the staff and served with the best fish and chipe we have tasted. Very hot on hot plates and beautifully cooked

We went to this pub for Sunday Lunch with 14 people and a dog. It's an old traditional pub with a good selection of typical pub food. Because we were such a large party, we had to sit on a long table in a smallish,...More

Authentic pub where the 13th century original character has been preserved. Friendly staff and genuine home cooked food. Don't miss the Specials Board as the best items we thought were there. We had four generous mains for less than £80.

We visited as a family of 7... meal was ok especially those of us that opted for the steak. However 2 ordered different curries and whilst portions were generous it was very dry. No nanbread either and far too much rice. The Brie was lovely...More
